Whales & Buggy

This combo is a fun way to to do something different – enjoy nature and wildlife while sailing in the longest fjord in Iceland and driving a Buggy up the hills surrounding it.

Start your day with a whale watching tour out of the heart of Akureyri by Hof culture and information centre. Meet your guide by the floating pier and step on board our newly renovated and specially modified whale watching boat. The 2,5-3,5 hr. tour takes you into Eyjafjord where we had 100% sightings of Humpback Whales in summer 2016. Our guide and crew will be commentating throughout and answering questions that may come to your mind, about the whales or the surrounding area or something else we may come across on the tour. The sightings and scenery of this tour is unlike any other.

Once the whale watching is over you have about an hour in the city to get ready for the next leg of the combo, which is the Buggy riding! Pickup is from our ticket office in the harbour and starts around 13:20, se please make sure to be ready and waiting in or outside our office. Once on site, strap into a two-seat Buggy with your partner and hurtle along paths and roads next to Skjaldarvík for an fun filled hour. The Buggies are equipped with 4-point harnesses for your safety and automatic transmission for driving ease. You will make a stop on the way for you to have the opportunity to change drivers. For this tour, all you really need is the spirit for adventure and a valid driving license for the driver. Please note, if you prefer to be alone on the buggy, make sure to select the “Single Rider” option.

Please bring good sturdy shoes, warm clothing, chance of clothes (in case you get muddy from the ride) and a swimsuit and a towel to soak in the hot tub after the Buggy tour.
