Combine an interesting and adventurous Imagine Peace Tower tour with dinner at restaurant RIO Reykjavík!

The Imagine Peace and dinner combo commences at a local restaurant, RIO Reykjavík, a mere 5 minute walk from the city centre and about 50 metres from the Elding ticket office. Your meal is typically booked 2 hours before tour departure. Choose between a Salmon, Cod or Nutsteak + 1 side dish. After your meal is done, head down to Elding’s ticket office, a little further down at the Old Harbour and collect your Imagine Peace tour tickets.

Our guide will meet you at our Visitor Centre which is facilitated on board an old fishing vessel permanently placed by the pier where you can view a video on the artpiece narrated by Yoko Ono herself and finally hand in your ticket before hopping onboard the ferry that will take you over to the island where the Imagine Peace Tower is situated We set sails towards the magical world of Viðey Island, a mere 20-minute boat ride away, where we take a guided walk to the Imagine Peace Tower and learn about this magnificent work of art as well as the history and nature of the island. Lit each year on John Lennon’s birthday, October 9, the tower, a beacon of world peace, lights up the evening sky in Reykjavik through December 8, the day Lennon died. The tower is also lit from winter solstice to New Year and for one week from spring equinox as well as other select dates. The ever-changing weather conditions impact the strength, intensity and brilliance of the tower of light. The view of Reykjavik by night is also not to be missed and if you’re lucky, the northern lights might even appear overhead!
